RIDE A WAVE, FIND YOUR BALANCE
ABOUT THE LONGBOARDERS
Longboard surfing is about balance, adaptability, and reading what’s ahead before making your move. It’s not just about reacting to change, it’s about understanding the cadence. It takes patience, agility, and the ability to stay in it for the long run.
Dr. Taylor Mizuno-Moore, our founder, knows this firsthand. She is the daughter of a Southern California surfer and was raised with the lessons of reading the waves. Her father, Stan, grew up in Malibu and spent the 1960s surfing up and down the California coast. A longboarder through and through, Stan never rushed the ride. Unlike shortboarding, which is fast and aggressive, longboarding is an art of fluidity and endurance. It requires a deep understanding of the board, the ocean, and timing. Stan was known to “surf the nose”, or walking to the front of the board and riding with trust and balance. It’s a test of skill, but even more so, confidence in themselves.
Stan is still teaching Taylor what it means to be a longboarder, and, by extension, what it means to be a leader. He reminds us that success isn’t necessarily about chasing the biggest wave; it’s about knowing how to ride the one you’re on with grace, awareness, and a commitment to sustainability.
Longboarders bring that philosophy to your work. We don’t just help you navigate change; we help you ride it, masterfully and purposefully. The best longboarders don't just adapt to the moment, they are built for the long haul.

What do the Longboarders do?
Inspired by the original 1960s culture of longboard surfing, this new chapter reflects our dedication to balance, adaptability, and sustained presence. Longboard culture is about reading the wave before making a move, responding to change not with haste, but with awareness and purpose. It’s about endurance, trust, and staying in it for the long run.
At Longboarders, we’ll help you ride the wave and find your balance. Whether through psychotherapy, coaching, hypnosis, or organizational consulting, we bring a steady, intuitive approach that supports both depth and momentum.

"Diversity is centered on the belief that inclusivity is not a static goal, but a continual practice. This practice is one that requires intentionality, vulnerability, and a commitment to evolving alongside the communities we serve. It is the acknowledgment that identity is complex and active, and individual and group-level self-reflection is necessary for true commitment to diversity."
